The Department of Industrial Technology Protection aims to develop the strategic, comprehensive security capabilities needed to protect a wide range of technology assets, including national core technologies, advanced R&D outcomes and defense industry technologies.
Its curriculum covers an understanding of response systems for technology leakage and misappropriation, the ability to establish security-related legislation and policy, and the practical security skills required in processes such as research and development and mergers and acquisitions.

In the R&D Security major, students learn how to secure both the creative autonomy and the safety of research and development in a balanced way while minimizing external threats and interference. The Defense Technology Protection major provides specialized education that takes into account the distinctive nature of defense-related technology protection and the national security environment, producing practice-ready security professionals whose skills can be applied immediately in the field.

The Economic Security Investigation major provides practice-centered education in digital investigation and analysis, financial tracing and international cooperative investigation, grounded in an understanding of law and institutions, in order to produce professionals with the specialized investigative capabilities needed to respond to economic security risks such as the leakage or misappropriation of advanced technologies and the disruption of supply chains.
